Moab Madness 2006

With this much body damage, we were left to wonder - is he a great wheeler or an unlucky one? We're guessing it's somewhere in between. Most of us cannot afford a second vehicle purpose-built only for wheeling, but when we can, it's something of a bragging right to let everyone know your rig is no mall crawler. With not much left of the original cab, the owner finished off the rear 'cagework in a unique fashion, allowing him the ultimate in shock adjustability.

The Toyota FJ Cruisers have finally arrived. Revtek Suspension brought along its FJ equipped with the company's new suspension system and a set of Mickey Thompson tires as well as a few other soon-to-be-released goodies. Revtek led a group of FJs through a moderate-level trail at the Primedia Area BFE event on Tuesday.

4WD&SU Technical Editor Christian Lee led a group through Green Day and Minor Threat, showing everyone how it's done. Unfortunately, coming down one of the larger descents, our Project TJ took in a little door dirt and firmly planted itself on its side. Christian was soon pulled back over and continued through the remainder of the day without incident.

For those who wanted a little easier trail day, Green Day Trail was open and very full with participants. Even though its trail rating is Easy, there are a few moderate obstacles along the way to keep you aware at the wheel.

Robert of Off-Road Evolution in Fullerton, California, made light work of this very tall climb in his buggy.

Off-road legend Walker Evans also made an appearance at the Area BFE event. He is well known for both speed and finesse on the trails. His completely 'caged Jeep is extremely well equipped to handle anything in Moab.
