Toyota Off-Road - TTORA TakeOver

Our trail leader for the day, Doug Turner of Gallup, New Mexico, drove his '95 "enhanced" Toyota 4Runner ahead of us throughout the day, showing us the proper lines to take. Being veterans of this trail system, Doug and his rig made short work of even the toughest obstacles.	Trail action usually equals trail damage. Fortunately, this trip was fairly problem-free - just a couple of axles and tires failed during the weekend.	I wish I would have snapped a picture of Nicholas McGaha, the driver of this '84 Toyota pickup. Getting covered in grease and dirt is a common occurrence at the end of an event, but how about showing up on day one with literally not a clean spot on your shirt Nicholas's truck runs a 5-inch Trail-Gear suspension and has dual Inchworm transfer cases, Lock-Right lockers, and 35-inch BFG M-T tires. His rig may not have been the prettiest, but he certainly pushed it farther and higher than any other truck out there.
Members of one of Toyota's FJ Trail Teams made an appearance at TakeOver to exhibit their skills behind the wheel. The stickers on the back of their trailer show just how much time they've been spending on the trail.
