As you descend one of the mountains down to the area where the coke ovens are, you'll see the Gila River below. After you visit the ovens, you can complete the loop as we described or venture to the riverbank a very short distance away. In dryer months, when the river flow is low, you can cross the Gila and return to the town of Florence via trails and dirt roads south of the river. View Related Article
