When we were done playing in the Quarry, we took a scenic drive along Lake Pend Oreille, which at 1,800 feet is one of the deepest lakes in the world. Here, we are parked across from the U.S. Navy's Acoustic Research Detachment. From this base, the Navy has held secret submarine tests in the depths of the lake dating back to WWII. We figured a modern-day orange WWII MB grille was an appropriate foreground ornament. View Related Article
