The summit station tender’s cabin has been stabilized with the addition of a new roof and a rebuilt veranda. Overnight stays inside are permitted, but not necessarily encouraged. It was going to be a cold night, so we decided to stay in the cabin despite the rodent droppings we found littering the corners inside. Rodent droppings can be bad news because of the threat of hantavirus, so we pitched our tent inside one of the rooms rather than sleep in the open. View Related Article
