Lee Coffey from Sidney, Ohio, found June's GeoStash marker in Coldwater, Michigan, behind the BDS Suspension building. Lee had some help from his brother Dan, pictured in the camo jacket. Congratulations guys.
We've found our way into another month of the GeoStash contest. The staff here at 4 WHEEL DRIVE & SPORT UTILITY is having a blast with the contest. The feedback and participation have been phenomenal.
The most recent winner of GeoStash is Lee Coffee from Sidney, Ohio. He found Marker #8 and has won a set of BDS Suspension's new 9500 gas shocks. Dan told me over a very excited phone call that he has been following the GeoStash contest just waiting for the marker to be planted close enough to home so he could take off on the hunt. I don't know for sure, but I think Michigan is quite a ways away from Dan's hometown of Celina...

The GeoStash prize for August '06 is Currie Enterprises' Universal Anti-Rock sway bar system. The system will include Currie's new CNC-cut and -engraved control arms. Currie has always been on the cutting edge of all things Jeep. This system provides performance and additional traction in harsh off-road conditions and is a very cool prize. For more information on the Anti-Rock system, check out Currie's website at: www.currieenterprises.com.
Dan told me he and his brother drove all night to reach the coordinates, and they found the marker on their second trip to the location at around midnight. Since the coordinates were a little too easy to find in some of our past issues, I had my art director, Tris Mast, make it a little more difficult this time around. Dan told me he found one of the coordinates fairly quickly, but he was having trouble locating the second set. Dan just happens to work as a barber, and as he cut his customers' hair, he would have them thumb through the magazine to try to find the missing coordinate. This tactic seemed to work, because one of his neatly trimmed customers found the second coordinate and off they went!
