This '85 4Runner shows just why these rigs are so sought-after: A factory-installed 22RE and a solid front axle make a great base to build from. The 4Runner's OEM configuration combined with 35s, 5-inch lift springs, and a pair of limited slip differentials moved the 'Runner steadily forward to the top. |  With a few last-minute details...  With a few last-minute details yet to be completed on his solid-front-axle FJ Cruiser, Jon Bundrant decided to postpone the FJ's dirt debut. We'll shoot Jon's completed FJ soon though. Jon brought another FJ instead: his FJ40. From the Dana 60s to the three-link front suspension to the healthy Chevy crate motor under the front clip, the '40 carried Jon wherever he wanted to go without breaking a sweat. |  All-Pro air-down system? Terry...  All-Pro air-down system? Terry had put together air valves and vinyl tubing in a configuration that allows airing all four tires up or down simultaneously. Since airing up and down is only slightly more fun than brushing your teeth with steel wool, this would be a welcome addition to any off-roader's toolbag. |
