Suzuki Samurai Wheel View Hydraulic Steering
The fully hydraulic steering is motivated by an AGR Saginaw pump. Fluids are dispensed to dual front and rear AGR rams, which are mounted to Trail Tough Hi-Steer centerlinks.
Suzuki Samurai Front Suspension View
These axles have been dubbed Big Suz-Ana because of the marriage of Suzuki Sidekick centersections and Dana 44 outer knuckles. The two are mated with 2-1/2-inch DOM, 3/16-inch tubing. Wrapped around Samurai rotors, hubs, and spindles are Suzuki Swift calipers, which can be operated independently for brake steering.
Suzuki Samurai Interior View Dashboard
The interior is nothing short of immaculate. Triple steering brake levers are mounted between Beard suspension seats, which are equipped with Schroth four-point harnesses. To track front tire placement, Lexan wheelwell windows were installed in the floor.
Suzuki Samurai Under Carriage View
The frame uses a front and rear three-link suspension with a Johnny Joint-style upper wishbone. Levitation is achieved with 185-pound AFCO springs and a set of Doetsch Tech 8000 prerunner shocks. With a one-spare-fits-all philosophy, each of the lower control arms, as well as the front and rear driveshafts, are of equal length so as to be interchangeable.
Suzuki Samurai Engine View
Beneath the hood purrs a 1.6L Sidekick mill. A K&N air filter was added to enhance aspiration, and spent gases are expelled via a 2-inch exhaust. For more throttle control, a Suzuki Swift GT flywheel, pressure plate, and Centerforce clutch disk were used, reducing rotating mass by 7 pounds.
