With the six-point family rollcage firmly mounted to the tub and frame, Knight installed a set of Bestop Fold and Tumble rear seats beneath it, using stock seatbelts to keep occupants secure. Bestop TrailMax Pro front seats were bolted in to accommodate driver and passenger, and a JP Off Road aluminum dash was installed and filled with stock Scrambler gauges and instruments. Though the aluminum tub can be painted using high-quality automotive paint, Knight opted to leave the surface unfinished for a more unique look. However, the fenders, hood, and grille were painted red to offset them from the polished aluminum.
In building this Scrambler/TJ hybrid family trail runner, Knight and JP Off Road, along with friends and sponsors, Danny Grimes, Tri County Gear, Advance Adapters, AFW, and Currie Enterprises, have recreated one of the coolest and most versatile Jeep models ever produced. With the ability to function using donor parts from any Jeep CJ, YJ, or TJ model, and a customized frame, the JP Off Road aluminum Scrambler tub is sure to find its way into many vehicle projects. Just take one look at Dave Knight's scrambled TJ, and you can see that it's the real thing - the legend, reborn.
