2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited - Long Shot

In the past few months, we've heard a lot about people building their new Wrangler Unlimiteds for hard-core trail use. That's one of the reasons why we took a quick look at some of the cool parts for Unlimiteds in this month's issue. Oddly, though, we've only discovered a handful of these rigs out on the trails. We're sure that will change soon enough, but in the meantime, when opportunity knocks, we like to take advantage of it. Recently, we came across Ron Stobaugh's '04 Unlimited, and we just couldn't let it go without taking a few shots for posterity.

Industry insiders are familiar with Stobaugh from his years at Superior Axle & Gear. Many people, though, are just now learning that he has launched his own axle company called Alloy USA. This Unlimited was built, in part, to help promote his new company, and, in part, to provide him with a well-built rig so he can still go play on the trails. Ron basically bought the Wrangler, spent two weeks wrenching on it day and night, and then broke it in by launching it onto the Rubicon Trail. Take a look at what he did.
