1971 Ford Bronco Sport - Pull Pal
A Ford MPI 302 V8 from a later-model truck sits in the engine compartment.
The Premier Power Welder with 190-amp alternator makes this early Bronco everyone's pal when they've broken their vehicle and are sitting on the side of the trail.
The interior is utilitarian and functional. The steering-brake levers are long and easy to reach, with the Atlas shifters to the left. An Art Carr shifter controls the Bronco's C4 automatic.
Pat salvaged the seats from a junkyard and says they're very comfortable on the trail.
A Tuffy Security box not only keeps gear safe and secure, it houses the small rear winch.
The old Warn XD9000i winch up front has seen plenty of use over the years and is still going strong.
Sixteen-and-a-half-inch Hummer wheels with inner and outer beadlocks keep the 39.5-inch Interco Super Swamper TSL tires securely mounted.
The Harley-Davidson mirror was Walker Evans' idea. It makes the Bronco work much better in reverse.
