Creating your ultimate rig takes a lot of time and patience, and not to mention usually ends up hurting your wallet quite a bit. Allen Ball of Mountain Off-Road Enterprises in Rifle, Colorado, wanted to create a vehicle that would showcase his company's offerings, perform great in the dirt with bolt-on components, and also retain a quality street ride. With only three weeks before the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, he found this salvage-title '04 Jeep Unlimited and transformed it into what you see before you.
For most of us, this front... For most of us, this front end looks like Christmas morning. The front is made up of a Full-Traction 6-inch coil suspension kit, Full-Traction nitrogen-based shocks, Currie tie rod and drag link, and a Full-Traction pitman arm with a monster Dynatrac Pro Rock 60 axle using 5:13 ring-and-pinion gears and a Detroit 35-spline locker. It also sports an Anti-Rock off-road sway bar. | Is that an Atlas II 3.8 twin-stick... Is that an Atlas II 3.8 twin-stick transfer case we see? Nothing but quality products for this Jeep. Giving Allan a few extra horsepower is a Full-Traction 2.5-inch exhaust system. The transfer case skidplate was made and installed by M.O.R.E., which also installed both the front and rear suspension systems. | In the rear, we find a matching... In the rear, we find a matching Dynatrac Pro Rock 60 axlehousing stuffed with components matching the front end. The fuel tank skidplate is also a M.O.R.E. product and was installed in house. Sending power to the rear is a Tom Wood's 1350 CV driveshaft that has been machined down to achieve greater angulations. |
The new Maxxis Trepador aggressive... The new Maxxis Trepador aggressive off-road tire is often found in many rockcrawling competitions. Known for their outstanding traction, Allan wanted to be sure they ended up on his rig. He is running size 37x12.5R17 using 17x10-inch Allied Monster beadlock wheels. | In order to keep the front... In order to keep the front end protected, M.O.R.E. installed one of its RockProof high-clearance front bumpers along with a Mile Marker recovery winch. | Alongside the Jeep you can... Alongside the Jeep you can check out the incredible custom paintwork that was performed by Bruce Cochran of Xtreme Auto Colors in Rifle, Colorado. Also pictured is a set of M.O.R.E. rocker guards. |
The M.O.R.E. rear bumper not... The M.O.R.E. rear bumper not only protects the vehicle but holds a fullsize spare as well as a Hi-Lift jack. Having everything you need to get you home from the trail is just as important as getting there. Allan has also added a Bestop soft top to his Jeep. | The 4.0L stock Jeep engine... The 4.0L stock Jeep engine provides a great deal of power, but when you swap out your suspension and tires for something like you see on this Unlimited, you need more. Allan has already replaced his motor mounts with a set from M.O.R.E. called BombProof motor mounts. They provide additional strength and security for all that bashing and bumping around on the trail. On top of the exhaust, a cold-air intake system from AEM has been added. That should get Allan around in the dirt a little quicker! | MasterCraft Rubicon seats... MasterCraft Rubicon seats keep all passengers planted in their spots comfortably and securely. M.O.R.E. added its Sport Cage to the vehicle just in case Allan decides to go a little more wild than his vehicle would like him to on the trail. In the back, he added a Tuffy Products storage unit as well as an air tank from The Air Source. |
