The transfer case is a full-time/part-time... The transfer case is a full-time/part-time NV242 from an XJ Cherokee. It sports a Currie SYE and Tera 4:1 low range gearing. Phil is a firm believer in full-time 4WD for winter driving. In our opinion, this versatile T-case is one of the best ever offered in a lightweight Jeep. The AX-15 transmission in front of the NV242 has gears from a diesel truck that give it a 4.3:1 first gear instead of the standard YJ 3.8:1. Phil changed to the AX-15 from the original Peugeot tranny to get rid of the problematic HydraClutch throwout bearing and use the later hydraulic slave cylinder. | Vision Research suspension... Vision Research suspension seats are extremely comfortable. VR is no longer in business, but the seats continue to work. Everyone who rides in Phil's YJ comment on the comfortable seats. | The Eaton Detroit leaf springs... The Eaton Detroit leaf springs are still under the axle. These springs have gone through five iterations until Phil found the rate he needed. The inverted U-bolts use parts from a Dodge Dakota. |

Permatech spray liner was sprayed in the tub and was color-matched to the accent striping on the body. The interior can be hosed out easily now. A Cobra CB keeps Phil in touch on the trail. | Currie trimmed and skidplated... Currie trimmed and skidplated the bottom of the 9-inch housing for better ground clearance. The rearend features disc brakes. The leaf spring packs in the back went through 7 iterations before Phil had what he wanted. |
