How would you like to trade 180 ponies under the hood for 345? Pomona Gear infused Steve's TJ with a Hemi that has no trouble pulling the built Jeep to whatever speed is needed, highway or trail. The key ingredient here is the CARB approval sticker proudly displayed on the hood's underside. It's a sign that the swap was done right. The stock brake booster and master cylinder weren't sufficient for the 1-ton brakes, so now there's a sure-stopping hydroboost unit attached to the firewall. | Fabtech's 8-inch long-arm... Fabtech's 8-inch long-arm suspension converts the front suspension from a four-link to a radius arm design using the OEM four-link mounts. The radius arms flex well due to their extended length, but still have an anti-sway effect on the chassis. This design also enhances ground clearance. The stock front coils and shocks were shelved and replaced with a pair of Fabtech Dirt Logic 2.5-inch coil-overs, resulting in clean mounting, easy chassis leveling, and superior damping and control. | Solid Axle makes nice differential... Solid Axle makes nice differential covers, but the Solid goes further than this under Steve's TJ. The front axle is Solid's Dana 60 with kingpin-style knuckles, and a matching Solid Dana 60 keeps watch astern. Behind the diff covers you'll find a pair of Detroit Lockers, famous for no-hassle traction. | Super-low low ranges are sometimes... Super-low low ranges are sometimes too deep. Stock low ranges are often not deep enough. The solution is the Atlas 4SP transfer case. Two low ranges can be engaged separately, or together. When both low ranges are engaged in this Atlas 4SP, it produces a 10.3:1 low range. This means you can creep over the rocks in Moab and still have the ability to rage through deep sand or mud where wheel speed is needed. | Fabtech's front tube bumper... Fabtech's front tube bumper plays host to a 9,000-pound Warn winch and a pair of PIAAs. The bumper's compact lateral profile leaves plenty of room to clear trailside hang-ups. | Gen-Right protection parts... Gen-Right protection parts shield the steering box, rocker panels, and hind quarters. They were the first upgrades Steve performed, and they inspired the rest of the build. |
