1972 Toyota FJ40 - Outlaw Cruiser

Under the bonnet, the fenderwells were removed to make room for the new mill. Kicking around the yard of a local auto wrecker, Dan stumbled upon a 360hp crate Chevy 350 V8 capped with a Whipple blower. A high-output alternator from Boyles Future Tech and an Optima YellowTop keep things energized while the stock three-core radiator and electric fan keep things cool. A K&N filter system enhances aspiration, and a pair of Hooker Racing headers manages spent gases.	The Outlaw Cruiser sports a few high-dollar parts, but most of it was home-fabbed with a budget in mind. The exhaust is a combo of parts from a Dodge diesel and Summit Racing. Home-fabbed drivelines and a custom crossmember deliver power from an Atlas II 4.3:1 transfer case and 700-R4 tranny. To clean up the aesthetics, the entire rig was rewired, and all aft electrical routed through the frame.	Loads of power and ultra-low gearing are worthless without a good set of dogs. To maximize traction in the rocks, a set of 38.5x14.50-15LT Interco Super Swamper TSL/SX radials were sourced and mounted on custom 8-lug, 15-inch Bart wheels.
Front and center on this Outlaw Cruiser is the owner's signature 19-slat billet aluminum grille.	Out back, the quarter panels were wrapped in aluminum diamond plate, and the OEM drop gate was replaced with a custom one-piece unit.	Letting the good times roll on the trail, a set of 5.5-inch marine-style Bullet speakers were integrated into the rollcage.
Mounted on the cage and controlled from the dash, dual-bank LED lights from Tatum Sand Cars illuminate the iAnterior during night operations.	In an effort to preserve the integrity of the front clip, Dan added a 2x4-inch tube bumper and plated and boxed the framerail before mounting a Chevy steering box. The Warn 9500 winch rides on a 1/2-plate fairlead.
