1972 Toyota FJ40 - Outlaw Cruiser
This high-pinion Ford 1-ton axle was originally from the front of an old farm truck. After being narrowed and fitted with Dutchman 35-spline axles, an ARB locker, and 5:13 gears, a custom oil galley was notched into the carrier to ensure proper lubrication. A set of hybrid springs were mounted over the axle, fitted with Rancho 9000 shocks and capped with 3/4-ton Chevy disc brakes. Forward of the rear bumper (another wrecking-yard gem), an air tank maintains a charge for the ARB lockers or airing up tires.
