SEMA Suspension Task Force
Consisting of SEMA-member suspension-, wheel-, tire-, and brake-equipment manufacturers, dealers, and installers, the SEMA Suspension Task Force is dedicated to the fair implementation and enforcement of responsible, well-targeted, and technically supported laws and regulations regarding altered-height vehicles. Working with SEMA's Light Truck Accessory Alliance (LTAA) and the Suspension Task Force, the SEMA Government Affairs office has compiled a listing of all state laws affecting altered-height vehicles. The list includes laws that address maximum allowable bumper and frame heights, headlamp and taillamp heights, tire and wheel sizes, and other equipment restrictions. The list is available on CD to SEMA members and is also summarized on the SEMA Web site (www.sema.org) under the State and Federal Legislations/Regulations heading. If you're not familiar with your state's laws regarding suspension modification and maximum frame and tire height, it should be interesting to find out if your rig meets the requirements.
The SEMA Suspension Task Force is comprised of individuals from many aftermarket suspension companies, including RCD Suspension, California Truck Works, Skyjacker Suspension, Superlift, Fabtech Motorsports, and Keystone Automotive. For more information, check out www.sema.org.
