As if the standard-trim models aren't already cool enough, the Chrysler Group is launching special limited-production editions of the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty, and Wrangler. Dubbed the Rocky Mountain Editions, each new model will feature unique components and styling to set them apart from other Jeeps on the road.
The Grand Cherokee Rocky Mountain Edition is based on the Laredo model and is offered with the 3.7L V-6 engine as standard equipment, with the 4.7L V-8 as an available option. In addition to the Rocky Mountain Edition badge, features include 17-inch Ronin II cast-aluminum wheels with graphite-accented pockets, P245/65R17 Goodyear Wrangler SRA OWL all-terrain tires, chrome body-side molding, heated two-tone leather seats with an embroidered Jeep logo, and a 276-watt Boston Acoustic sound system with a one-year free subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio.
The Jeep Liberty Rocky Mountain Edition is based on the Renegade X package and features body-color front and rear fascias, body-color fender flares, 16-inch Mechanica aluminum wheels, cloth seats with an embroidered Jeep logo, a unique center console, a spare-tire cover, and a Rocky Mountain Edition badge.
Based on the Wrangler X package, the Rocky Mountain Edition Jeep Wrangler is equipped with either an automatic or manual transmission, color-keyed fender flares, 15-inch aluminum wheels, 30x9.5-inch Goodyear Wrangler OWL tires, a Dana 44 rear axle, fog lamps, center console accents, two-tone seats with an embroidered logo, a seven-speaker stereo system, and a Rocky Mountain Edition decal.
Jeff Bell, Jeep and Chrysler Group vice president, commented, "One of the things that makes Jeep vehicle owners unique is their desire to stand out from the crowd, whether on- or off-road. The Jeep Rocky Mountain editions give consumers three unique ways to declare independence from less-capable SUVs." For more information, contact: Jeep, (800) 925-5337, www.jeep.com.
