New BFG Competition Tire for CORR Series
BFGoodrich launched a new competition version of its popular Mud-Terrain T/A off-road tire at the start of the 2006 Champion Off Road Racing (CORR) racing series. The tire is being used by several drivers, including CORR Pro 2 champion Carl Renezeder, 2002 CORR Rookie of the Year Josh Baldwin, and six-time CORR champion Scott Taylor.
In addition to the new tire's versatility, which allows it to be used for front and rear applications, the tire features a super-sized, performance-oriented tread pattern and is designed to be easily customized to correspond with temperature and terrain as well as a driver's specific needs. The new tire also features BFG's proprietary sidewall construction, which offers three heavy-duty plies.
Todd Sheen, motorsports marketing manager for BFG, comments, "BFGoodrich Tires has been a partner in the CORR series since its inception, and we have designed the Mud-Terrain T/AKR tires specifically for the intense conditions of the series. Even though we won more races in 2005 than all other tire manufacturers combined, our engineers continually develop new innovations and tread designs to optimize the performance of our tires in competition."
The final dates for the CORR series are September 2-3 in Crandon, Wisconsin, and September 23-24 and October 28-29 in Chula Vista, California. For more information, check out: www.bfgoodrichtires.com.
Jeep Brand Joins EA's Medal of Honor: Airborne
For those of you who have never had the experience of being behind the wheel of WWII-era Willys flatfender Jeep, you can now experience it virtually. Electronic Arts (EA) and the Jeep brand have joined forces to give gamers a chance to "drive" Jeep vehicles in EA's new game, Medal of Honor: Airborne. This is the latest installment from EA's Medal of Honor game franchise, which is a series of first-person shooter (FPS) WWII-genre games. The FPS format allows players to decide where every mission begins and how it plays out. Medal of Honor: Airborne will feature a fully player-driveable Willys Jeep that can be used as a mode of transportation or as a mobile attack platform, taking full advantage of a variety of vehicle-mounted weapons. Due to its four-wheel-drive ability, the Willys Jeep will also be able to access more areas than other driveable vehicles featured in the game.
Jay Kuhnie, Director - Jeep Communications, Chrysler Group, states, "Video games are quickly becoming the medium of choice for a new generation of consumers, and Chrysler Group has been at the forefront of this exciting revolution. By teaming with Electronic Arts and Medal of Honor: Airborne, Jeep is celebrating its history while helping take this medium to its next level."
