Teraflex is at it again. After its successful launch of the Tera60R differential, along with such popular items as its TJ Long-Arm suspension kit and Revolver Shackles, the company has upped the ante one more step. The Tera50R High-Performance high-pinion differential is its newest creation, and it encompasses all the development of the Tera60R unit into a differential capable of using nearly every component from your existing Dana 44.
The Tera50R can be used for front and rear applications and can be equipped with 1-ton capacity knuckles and U-joints. We opted to retain our Dana 44 axle yokes, however, so that we could use our Dana 44 steering knuckles, rotors, and calipers. Since our Project All-American Dana 44 was a standard rotation unit, we only needed to order a reverse set of 5.13 gears to complete the buildup of the Tera50R. We swapped over the Moser Engineering Heavy Duty 30-spline axleshafts, the ARB Air Locker, the Raybestos rotors and outer hubs, and the Warn Premium locking hubs. The Tera50R went together without any issues and we'll soon be riding high with a full inch more of clearance over the Dana 44.
