The central control unit contains the alternator's external regulator and has jacks for the welding leads as well as a 115-volt DC power source. Several types of welding rod are available from any welding supply store. Though larger 6011 rods are shown and work well for on-trail repairs, Premier recommends use of 3/32-inch 7018 or 7014 welding rods for their strength and versatility.
