After determining the proper location for the rearward front leaf spring shackle mounting point, Mike marked and drilled a hole through the framerail.
After determining the proper location for the rearward front leaf spring shackle mounting point, Mike marked and drilled a hole through the framerail.
The new shackle mounts were installed using tube inserts in the frame with polyurethane bushings to support the shackle plates. This mounting method is said to keep the caster angle as close to stock as possible.
After welding the tube inserts in the frame, the polyurethane bushings and shackles were secured as well as the leaf springs.
With the rear mount complete, the pivot brackets were installed on the front framehorns using the existing winch mounting plates and provided spacer plates. The Black Diamond 1-1/2-inch-lift leaf springs were also installed.

The M.O.R.E. long-travel shock mount cage was mocked in place on the framerail and over the engine. The fenders were also removed to facilitate installation.
Lower shock mounts were welded to the Rockcrusher inner C-knuckles.
With installation of the axles and suspension components complete, Mike installed a heavy-duty Tri-Country Gear tie rod and drag link to the Rockcrusher steering arms.
With the exception of shocks, the installation of the suspension components and the axles was complete.
