JB Conversions NP231 Mega Kit - NP231 Forever

The six-pinion planetary gearset was easily installed in place of the three-pinion unit.	Chris then installed the synchronizer assembly, shift mode fork, and shift range fork. Note the new blue shift pads on the mode fork, which are included in JB Conversions' master rebuild kit.	The new wide chain, along with the new output shaft, new mainshaft, and new drive sprocket, were installed as an assembly.
The rear 'case half was then installed with the rear extension housing and oil pump in place.	The new tone wheel was then installed over the new mainshaft. The tone wheel is manufactured from prehardened 4140 alloy material and features eight oversized oil passages for thorough lubrication.	Chris applied black silicone to the new tail housing before securing it in place.
The tailhousing was bolted in place using the stock hardware. Also note the high-tolerance micro-finish machining of the speedometer sensor bore on the left.	Chris then installed the provided 1310 CV yoke and torqued it to spec.	JB Conversions includes an OEM-style Honeywell electronic speed sensor with its Super Short SYE kit. Its design is much more refined than that which is included with many aftermarket SYE kits, and it is also a part that is readily available from your local Jeep dealership should the sensor fail from misuse. Here, Chris installed the new sensor in the Super Short bearing/tailshaft housing.
As a final step, Chris installed the stock front output yoke.	The JB Conversions NP231J HD Super Short SYE kit will allow a significantly longer driveline than stock for most vehicles. As it turns out, because of it, we expect that the Liberty's rear driveline will actually be shorter than stock when equipped with the NP231, the Klune, and the HD Super Short SYE. We'll provide more info about this conversion in a coming issue.	With the 'case completely rebuilt with better-than-stock components, our fresh NP231 is significantly stouter than the factory setup and will help improve overall vehicle performance.
