I hardly see a built-up Jeep Wrangler TJ these days that doesn't have at least a few scratches, and sometimes large dents, on the windshield frame. Though the Wrangler windshield offers the ability to fold down, many Wrangler owners leave it upright at all times, even while on the trail. This can create issues on some trails as overhanging tree limbs, tree trunks, and rocks often sneak up to leave their mark. I experienced this in Moab on a few obstacles, which all left scratches and even added a big dent to the driver side after laying the rig over at Area BFE. Yes, I could've removed or at least folded down the windshield to avoid damage, but sometimes it's just too much of a pain when all you're doing is a bit of "light" wheeling. For next time, however, I'll leave the windshield upright without worry, because I now have No Limits 4x4 windshield frame sliders securely installed.
No Limits 4x4's windshield frame sliders are a great aid in preventing scratches and dents to the vulnerable windshield frame. They are available for '97-'06 Jeep Wrangler TJs and offer an easy bolt-on installation and include all-new hardware. The sliders are made from 1/8-inch rolled steel and are available in bare metal so they can be painted to match a vehicle or textured powdercoated black. The sliders are also available with or without light mount tabs.
With No Limits 4x4 windshield frame slider skids in place, our windshield frame looks as good as new. They not only protect from future damage, but they also cover up existing trail scars. The damage was caused as we scraped through a tight rock canyon and also from a flop onto the vehicle's side. | No Limits 4x4 windshield frame sliders include left- and right-side plates made from 1/8-inch rolled steel. Installation hardware is also provided. |
The crew at Off Road Evolution began the installation by removing the factory windshield frame upper hinge bolts. | The windshield slider was then set in place over the windshield frame, and the new hardware was used to secure it in place. | As a final step, the upper mounts were secured using the provided self-tapping screws that turn into the windshield frame. |
