Disassembly of the transmission ensued. The front and rear clutch assemblies were pulled from the housing, including the front and rear clutch retainers, clutch pistons, and clutch plates.		 Torqueflite Transmission Rebuild Clutch Plates
The clutch plates were in fairly good shape with the direct drum on the Third clutch showing some wear, and the forward clutch was slightly more burnt than the direct clutch.		 Torqueflite Transmission Rebuild Worn Band

The valvebody was in pretty good condition for the amount of mileage on the odometer and considering how the vehicle is used. The pistons were all in good shape and showed little sign of wear.		 Torqueflite Transmission Rebuild Valvebody
Once a thorough inspection was performed, the valvebody was reassembled and the bolts were torqued to 35 lb-in.

With the internal components removed from the housing, the housing and hard parts were treated to a steam bath. Here, reassembly begins using new and cleaned components and housing. A new governor support was installed in place of the old one to enhance shift quality.
