For installation of the Superlift components, we contacted Mel Wade at Off Road Evolution. The Off Road Evolution crew is very capable in completing all types of Jeep and 4x4 installations and made quick work putting the Superlift kit in place. Once back on the road, we were afforded a highway ride that can't even compare to what the YJ offered in its previous state. We'll also confidently enjoy many trails thanks to the increased off-road capability created through installation of the Superlift components.
Included in the Superlift... Included in the Superlift 3.5-inch lift system are new leaf springs, urethane bushings, U-bolts, rear extended sway-bar links and front sway-bar disconnects, front and rear track-bar drop brackets, transfer-case drop-down brackets, bumpstop extensions, and a new steering stabilizer. Also shown are a dropped pitman arm, Superlift's TruSpeed, and Bulletproof brake hoses. Superlift also provided a set of its Superide shocks. | Superlift's Bulletproof brake... Superlift's Bulletproof brake hoses are extended-length, Kevlar-reinforced, braided stainless steel hoses. New mounting hardware is also included. | We'll also install a set of... We'll also install a set of Currie Enterprises rear boomerang shackles. The shackles permit increased articulation by allowing the rear spring eye to pivot farther rearward. They include urethane bushings, 1/4-inch-thick steel side plates, and Grade 8 bolts with greasable zerks in the bolt heads. |
The stock suspension was used... The stock suspension was used and abused. The driver-side front spring had a significant bend, and the passenger-side framerail had evidence of repair. The YJ previously sat on 33-inch tires by way of extended shackles and a very shoddy 3-inch body lift, which was almost missing altogether. | Note the rearmost passenger-side... Note the rearmost passenger-side body mount, which has been replaced with some sort of spacer that was obviously installed to fill a void. | Here, the new Superlift spring... Here, the new Superlift spring is shown next to the bent driver-side front spring. The obvious lack of arc and disintegrated spring-eye bush-ings offered a lackluster ride on- and off-road. The new springs will increase ride height and offer significantly better ride quality. |
Once the stock suspension... Once the stock suspension components were removed, Mel Wade of Off Road Evolution began the installation by installing the new urethane bushings and bolt sleeves in the spring eyes. | The front springs were then... The front springs were then secured to the front Currie Enterprises tow shackles. | With the new springs in place,... With the new springs in place, we'll install the U-bolts to secure them to the axle. |
