With the cooling parts in place, Gary added a mix of coolant and water to the new McCulloch radiator. After running the engine at idle and at 2,000 rpm for about 10 minutes, we continued to add water until the cooling system was filled. Once the radiator was topped off, we test-drove the vehicle for about 5 miles to make sure we didn't have any leaks.
