We are always looking for ways to squeeze more power out of our project vehicles. Our Grand Cherokee is no exception. The vehicle's original engine met its demise in a cold Montana river last year, but we have a new performance-built engine in place. Since we acquired the new mill, we've slowly been adding components here and there, steadily increasing the engine's performance base. Recently, we bolted Holley's high-airflow throttle body to the 5.2L V-8.
The Holley throttle body is completely bolt-on for this application except for a slight modification of the throttle linkage bracketry. This installation is really quite simple and can be completed by just about anyone with basic mechanical skills.
We were definitely impressed with the ease of installation and the performance response after the throttle body's installation. Holley offers throttle bodies for dozens of applications. If you are looking to pep up your engine, we recommend Holley.
The Holley high-airflow throttle... The Holley high-airflow throttle body features dual 52mm throttle bores that increase the engine's breathing capacity and throttle response. This unit is a direct swap and retains all the factory emission and sensor connections. | The replacement throttle body... The replacement throttle body comes as a complete kit for ease of installation. | The tired old factory throttle... The tired old factory throttle body (left) was overdue for replacement. Holley units offer large intake bores, which affords excellent airflow. |
A small notch needs to be... A small notch needs to be ground or cut into the throttle cable bracket. This can be completed with a bench or die grinder. | | |
