The Enhanced Vehicle Suspension...
The Enhanced Vehicle Suspension (EVS) foam shock bumpstops from Daystar are shown installed on our Jeep Cherokee. The foam bumpstops are designed to work with existing suspension bumpstops to further damp suspension compression and prevent hard impact at bottoming.
After spending a few days in the desert playing with our newly lifted '97 Jeep Cherokee we came to a couple of conclusions. One, the Rubicon Express long-arm system was kicking ass, and two, the stock bumpstops were hurting our ass. In our quest for more suspension uptravel, we had neglected to improve upon the opposite end of the travel equation: a little thing called downtravel or compression. In an effort to remove the hurt from our rear, we looked to Daystar and its diverse line of bumpstops and urethane products.
Daystar's new Enhanced Vehicle Suspension (EVS) foam shock bumpstops are designed to damp the force of shock compression and prevent hard impact at bottoming. The foam shock bumpstops can be installed on any aftermarket or OE shock and are available in two different foam densities to meet various vehicle suspension requirements. The black EVS shock bumpstops are for stiffer suspension setups, and the red EVS bumpstops will offer softer damping. EVS foam shock bumpstops are sold in sets of two and are installed using a special installation tool, also available from Daystar.
In addition to the Daystar EVS foam shock bumpstops, we also utilized some of Daystar's urethane products to create an even smoother-operating suspension. A set of extended front bumpstops and extended rear bumpstops will aid in damping suspension compression more efficiently in our lifted Jeep Cherokee and will also help ensure less damage to body panels and other equipment since the tires will be stopped before they fully compress into the fenderwells. Tri-County Gear in Pomona, California, helped us complete the installation.
 The EVS foam shock bumpstops...  The EVS foam shock bumpstops are sold in sets of two so they can be added to a vehicle's rear shock, front shocks, or both. For installation, Daystar offers special installation tools for both eye and stem shocks. A tube of installation lubricant is also supplied with each tool. |  To begin the installation...  To begin the installation of the EVS bumpstops the crew at Tri-County Gear in Pomona, California, first removed the shocks from the vehicle and then removed the shock bushing from the shaft end of the shock. The EVS bumpstop installation tool was then placed over the shock eye, and the EVS foam bumpstop was stretched over it and onto the shock shaft. |  The EVS foam shock bumpstop...
