2WD To 4WD 2007 Jeep JK Conversion
Shown here in its stock form, the 2WD Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara is set to receive this multitude of parts. The Rancho long-arm suspension components feature a black powdercoated finish and are well-labeled for easy identification and installation. Extended brake lines are also included with the kit. Also shown are the Dynatrac axles and Advance Adapters Atlas four-speed transfer case, along with the remote-reservoir Fox Racing shocks.
Rancho's long-arm kit is offered in a black powdercoat finish. The front upper and lower arms and the rear lower arms are shown. The tubular arms offer a heavy-duty construction and use double-cushion high-articulation bushings fitted with steel sleeves at each attachment point. The front upper arms secure to the front lower arms using steel Heim joints. Note that each bushing end is equipped with grease fittings to facilitate regular maintenance.
The Advanced Adapters Atlas 4SP will give us a selection of four transfer-case gears, the highest of them being the same 2.72 Low ratio offered from the factory NV241 JK transfer case and lowest being 10.34:1. As a result, we're afforded quite a bit more on-trail capability without having to rely as heavily on engine horsepower.
The stock front and rear 2WD axles are shown here with the new Dynatrac axles looming behind them. We left the stock suspension arms connected since we'll be replacing them with Rancho's long control arms.
The Dynatrac ProRock 60 front-axle assembly is outfitted with the company's nodular-iron steering knuckles and a high-steer arm, which permits use of crossover and high-clearance steering setups. It also features solid steel end forgings and 3-1/8-inch axletubes.
We acquired the Dynatrac ProRock 60 axles with the appropriate suspension-mounting brackets, which included this front axle bridge for the driver-side upper control-arm mount.
The single-piston Dynatrac front brake setup will provide ample braking power to stop the vehicle, which is a bit heavier with the macho-size axles, transfer case, and tires. The lower gearing of the transfer case will also require increased braking power.
