Jeep CJ Brake Upgrade - Brawny Braking: BTB Master Booster Combo
Once this hole was drilled, we installed the steering column, making sure to again check clearances.
As you can see, the clearances are a little close but everything functioned properly.
We then plumbed the stainless steel brake lines. To begin, we ran the main line from the rear of the Scrambler forward.
Next, we ran the line from the master cylinder output to the frame. This connects to a multiport junction, allowing all four disc-brake assembly lines to be connected.
The next step involved connecting the new flexible brake hoses to the calipers. We used braided stainless steel lines from Quadratec, making sure to leave some slack in the lines for when the suspension articulates and to mount the lines away from moving parts.
Once the brake booster and master cylinder unit are installed, it's necessary to bleed the master cylinder. The BTB kit comes with a bleeding kit and looks like this when in use.
This is the overall view of BTB's Master Booster system after installation on Project Scrambled Adventurer. Thanks to the experts at Extreme Gear Off Road in Orangevale, California, for their assistance with this install.
