1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ Project - Rockworx YJ

The triangulated upper long arms do away with the Panhard rod. The front and rear CV driveshafts were built by Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts. The Flowmaster muffler and exhaust was installed by the experts at Performance Muffler & Auto in Montrose, Colorado.

Rockworx used the mounting bridge from Dynatrac for its upper link mount in front. Note the coated braided stainless brake lines from Saunders Hydraulics. They're abrasion-resistant and tough.

The rear uses Currie progressive 4-inch coils and Walker Evans Racing Compression Adjuster Reservoir 500 Series 2.0 shocks. These shocks also have 12 adjustments for compression damping. The rebound damping on these needed no adjustment either. Rockworx mounted the Antirock sway bar ahead of the gas tank. We didn't think it would work well there, but it seems to be working great.

The Atlas transfer case from Advance Adapters affords a 3.8:1 low range as well as the ability to drive in 2WD low and front-wheel drive. The Rockworx crossmember includes a flat skidplate that's a separate part from the rear transfer-case bracket, so it can be removed for easy servicing.

A super-fast and strong Warn 9.5xp winch was mounted on a Warn YJ winch-mounting plate. A Currie Rock Crawler II shorty front bumper was also used. Clean and simple is good.

Warn Rock Sliders are clean, simple, and provide great protection.

The Currie Rock Crawler II rear bumper/tire carrier easily carries the 37-inch BFG Krawler. The tire carrier swings away when rear access is needed.

Drivetrain Unlimited offers this bracket that allows the installation of the Auto Meter Ultra-Lite gauges. They look better than factory in the Wrangler's dash.

The electronic, programmable speedometer allows you to calibrate your speedo easily when tire size or gear changes warrant the need to. A DIN tray from Crutchfield hadn't arrived when we shot these photos, so excuse the radio hole in the dash.

Super Sport recliner seats and custom carpeting from 4WD Hardware really make the interior comfortable. The seats are mounted on Bestop seat brackets and sliders. Bestop also supplied the Supertop and rear seat cover. The new Lokar cable transmission shifter is precise and looks custom with its black-anodized billet shift knob. A Tuffy Super Security console not only provides cavernous locking storage space, it also has a place for a DIN mount head unit, CB, or anything else that fits. 4WD Hardware also sent an OR Fab front cage that bolts to the factory bar and is unobtrusive.
