Jeep Engine Swaps - GM TBI V8

The new engine from Scoggin-Dickey is shipped complete from the Edelbrock intake to the GM oil pan. Scoggin-Dickey doesn't take any chances on freight damage, so each engine is shipped on a steel stand fully enclosed in a plywood crate.

The new SDPC engine is built with hydraulic roller lifters like the L98 Vette engines of the same era.

The Edelbrock valve covers hide another improvement over the stock GM motor. COMP Cams 1.6 Roller Rocker Arms keep the valvetrain smooth and provide more valve lift to accentuate the new cam profile.

The Edelbrock Performer cylinder heads feature 2.02-inch intake valves and 1.60-inch exhaust valves. GM TBI cylinder heads rank near the bottom in airflow capacity, therefore the Edelbrock Performer cylinder heads offer a huge power improvement.

All of the original GM engine accessory brackets were bolted into the original positions. The Edelbrock cylinder heads are drilled to match the original GM iron heads, making the bracket swap a snap.

The Scoggin-Dickey engine is not equipped with a throttle-body unit when delivered. Instead of scouring the junkyards for a used GM throttle-body, we made a quick call to Turbo City in Orange, California, and placed an order for an original GM throttle-body with a full overhaul. Turbo City will supply a spotless Hi-Flow throttle-body with enlarged bores for maximum airflow.
