All Poly Performance control... All Poly Performance control arms are adjustable while on the vehicle. This makes dialing in the suspension easy to do. | Nate Williams installed a... Nate Williams installed a power-steering cooler under the radiator. The cooler not only does its job keeping the power-steering fluid cool, but it adds volume to the system as well. | Williams fabricated the PSC... Williams fabricated the PSC aluminum reservoir mount under the hood. It also catches a bolt below for strength. |
A Pro Comp Super HDX orbital... A Pro Comp Super HDX orbital off-road sealed battery provides reliable, trouble-free power. | JB Conversions supplied a... JB Conversions supplied a new JK Rubicon Rock-Trac transfer case. It bolted right in. The Rock-Trac's 4:1 low range is necessary off-road with the 3.8 V6's powerband and works much better than the Sahara's stock 2.72:1 low range. | |
A ShrockWorks stubby front bumper holds a Warn PowerPlant Dual Force HP winch with integral air compressor down low and out of the way. The ShrockWorks bumper is strong yet lightweight and doesn't have the swollen look many other JK bumper designs have. The bumper comes with a bolt-on air dam, but we left it off because we didn't need it and like the look of the bumper as you see it here. Small foglights from Mopar come with a harness that plugs into the stock JK harness and allows the lights to work with the factory switch.
The Hanson rear bumper has the best departure angle of any JK bumper we've seen yet and is great-looking too. We fabricated a spare carrier that holds the 35-inch spare and a third brake light, but it probably isn't the best idea after all. If we catch the tire on an obstacle or when climbing a steep ridge, the tire might destroy the tailgate. We're looking at doing a swing-away option on the Hanson bumper. We'll show you when we figure it out.
 | As we plan on driving this... As we plan on driving this JK on the highway, we opted to include a fairlead license-plate holder from Cool Tech. The plate is now securely on the front as law requires in Utah, yet it is easily removable when off-road. | A set of 37x12.50R17 Pro Comp... A set of 37x12.50R17 Pro Comp Tri-Ply Mud Terrains are mounted on 17-inch Walker Evans Racing beadlocks. The Pro Comps are strong, sticky, and some of the best all-around tires ever made. Although they are siped from the factory, Jack's Tire & Oil in Logan, Utah, siped the center lugs for even better snow and rock performance (you can't see those sipes in this photo.) |
Our friend Al Wolford cut... Our friend Al Wolford cut the rear inner fender liners and flares, so the rear tires won't rub. He also cut up some old mudflaps and filled the hole that was left after trimming. It's a clean job that works. | Randy Cox and the crew at... Randy Cox and the crew at Auto Trim Design in Riverdale, Utah, installed Mopar leather seat covers on our factory seats. The seat covers are made by Katzkin, so the quality and fit are superb. You can purchase these seat covers through your local dealer or order them from the factory on '09 JKs with the Sahara trim level. | TeraFlex mudflaps work on... TeraFlex mudflaps work on the street and are quickly removable in the dirt. |
