The mounting pads were tied into the factory engine mounts. This photo shows the engine mounting brackets after tack welding. I try to use many tack welds in critical applications like this one, as more tack welds mean the structure will hold its shape better during final welding. It the tack welds are too big, they can be sanded down to a lower profile. View Related Article
