Supreme Performance For JKSThe first lift system that Poly Performance designed was its Jeep TJ coil-over system, which was the first off-the-shelf kit of its kind. Since that time Poly Performance has continued to create innovative products for Jeeps and other vehicles, the latest being its Synergy line of suspension systems for the Jeep Wrangler JK.

The Poly Performance Synergy Suspension kits are offered in three varieties: Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3. This allows the end user to modify their JK on their own schedule and upgrade to the next tier as the need arises. The Stage 1 kit starts you out with some of the basic lift components but adds a front adjustable track bar and rear track bar relocation bracket along with progressively-wound coil springs. A rear sway-bar drop bracket is also included to permit use of factory offset wheels. The Stage 1 kit is offered in 2- to 4.5-inch lift heights to clear up to 37-inch tires. This is one of the unique aspects of the Synergy kits; you can start with the base kit and still fit 37-inch tires. You won't taste supreme performance until you get to the Stage 3 system but the Stage 1 is obviously enough to do the job if big tires are your only goal.

Poly's Stage 2 system ups the ante a bit more by including front and rear adjustable lower control arms, a front track bar relocation bracket, rear lower shock mounts, and a drag link flip kit. The Stage 2 system is available in 3- to 4.5-inch lift heights and will clear up to 37-inch tires. The Stage 3 Synergy System finishes what the Stage 1 kit started and supplies everything from Stage 2 plus front and rear adjustable upper control arms. Lift heights range from 3 to 4.5 inches to clear up to 37s. Also, for those who want to create their own stages of lift, each of the Poly Performance lift components are available ala carte, although remember that some are best used in conjunction with others.

In order to gain an impression of the Poly Performance Synergy kit we opted to sample the top-of-the-line Stage 3 kit. Though we only wanted to fit 35-inch tires we still went with the 4.5-inch kit. This would allow us some extra under fender space for up travel and also allow the option to move to 37s later down the road.

Once the kit was installed we were immediately impressed with its highway manners; the JK didn't react like a lifted vehicle-it felt like a plush factory ride. Even in cornering and braking the Synergy-equipped JK shined. While the feel-good highway ride was promising it wasn't until after some trail time that we remembered what the Poly Performance Synergy kits are designed for. The Stage 3 kit permitted so much flex that we were able to forgo use of the lockers in many situations since the tires never lost contact with the ground. On top of the ample flex qualities, the JK even provided supple ride and handling along the graded and pock-marked access road leading to the trail head.
