Weld prep is at least as important... Weld prep is at least as important as weld technique for best results. These welds show success on both fronts. | These braces tie the suspension... These braces tie the suspension crossmember to the vertical faces of the uni-body frame rails for additional strength. | The front lower link mounts... The front lower link mounts are no longer used, and they can actually be in the way. It's best to just cut them off. Don't try to cut too close because you can cut into the unibody structure by mistake. The best approach is to cut fairly close with the saw, and finish off the process with a grinder. |
The stock pitman arm comes... The stock pitman arm comes off to make way for the BDS dropped pitman arm. You'll need a proper puller for this step. Be sure to torque the nut to spec when installing the BDS dropped pitman arm. | Like the front suspension... Like the front suspension links, the BDS track bar is adjustable. Adjusting the track bar allows the axle to be perfectly centered under the vehicle at ride height. A centered axle eliminates bump steer and produces a centered steering wheel. | The BDS steering stabilizer... The BDS steering stabilizer needs a hole drilled in order to mount it. BDS provides a template for drilling the required hole. Once the new hole is drilled, the BDS bracket can be bolted in place and the stabilizer affixed to the bracket. The other end of the stabilizer is fastened to the tie rod using a supplied plate and U-bolts. |
New Pro-ride coil springs... New Pro-ride coil springs mount in place using the stock mounting method. These coils are made from pre-set 5160 spring steel and "handle anything you can throw at them." | Not all XJs have lower spring... Not all XJs have lower spring retainer clips. If yours has them, use them. | The lower bump stop strike... The lower bump stop strike pad is extended upward with this cylindrical puck. |
