Dynatrac offers its ProRock...
Dynatrac offers its ProRock 44 axle assembly in various stages of build, ranging from simply the housing itself without tubes, to complete finished assemblies with tubes, JK suspension brackets, and end forgings. Complete JK- or TJ-ready assemblies with all internal and external parts are also available as are customized assemblies designed for special applications.
What's easy to install, made in the USA, and capable of eradicating the issue of bent axle housings in Jeep JKs and TJs, while offering increased strength and ground clearance? The Dynatrac ProRock 44, of course. Created based on the same design principles found in the venerable Dynatrac ProRock 60 axle, the new ProRock 44 boasts the same benefits in a smaller and lighter package.
The Dynatrac ProRock 44 is designed as a direct replacement for the "New Generation" Dana 44F axle found in 2007-and-newer Jeep Wrangler JKs. What parts does "direct replacement" include? All of them. Order a complete ProRock 44 housing with suspension brackets in place and you can transfer your factory or aftermarket JK ring and pinion, electric locker, inner and outer axle shafts, knuckles, wheel bearings, and brakes to create a complete ready-to-bolt-in axle assembly. The ProRock 44 also accepts the knuckles, wheel bearings, and brakes from Dana 30 JK front axles, as well Dana 30 and Dana 44 TJ front axles. Or, Dynatrac can supply all of the parts and ship you a complete, ready-to-bolt-in assembly. No welding, no cutting, no grinding; bolt for bolt the ProRock 44 fits the JK like a glove.
In addition to its standard 3-inch-diameter by 5/16-inch-thick axle tubes (stock is 2.5x0.25-inch) the ProRock 44 offers greater housing rigidity and strength and the highest ground clearance of any Dana 44 axle. It offers a high-pinion design and is equipped with the same degrees of pinion and caster as a stock JK axle. The ProRock 44 is also available in an "Unlimited" version that offers even thicker axle tubes and increased caster to accommodate taller lifts.
If you're sick of nursing your JK frontend through a trail for fear of damage then the Dynatrac ProRock 44 is your answer. The ProRock 44 has been tested against other popular methods of adding strength to the front axle, such as sleeving, gusseting, and re-tubing, and it beats them all. Check out the photos to see why. Your JK or TJ will thank you with unbeatable and unbreakable trail performance.

The Dynatrac ProRock 44 front...

The Dynatrac ProRock 44 front axle assembly is a bolt-in answer to the inherent deficiencies of the factory Jeep Wrangler JK front axles. In addition to its greater strength, the ProRock 44 will accept stock and aftermarket Jeep JK Dana 44 ring and pinion gears, lockers, knuckles, wheel bearings, brakes, and axle shafts.

JK owners with Dana 30 front...

JK owners with Dana 30 front axles can retain use of their knuckles, wheel bearings, and brakes. The Dynatrac ProRock 44 axle assembly bolts into stock or lifted JKs and TJs with no grinding or welding required. Though it accepts factory JK parts, the ProRock 44 can also be equipped with an array of aftermarket components, including all popular aftermarket locking differentials and larger spline chromoly axle shafts.

The tube lengths are cut to...

The tube lengths are cut to size and both ends of the tubes are prepared in a lathe. The outside diameters of the tube ends are trimmed down to within a fraction of the inside diameter of the housing and end forgings to ensure an accurate and tight fit once pressed in place. Here, material is removed from the inside diameter of the housing end of the tube to make way for a special seal housing that allows fitment of a stock JK axle seal in the larger diameter axle tube.

A puny, stock JK axle tube...

A puny, stock JK axle tube is shown next to a Dynatrac ProRock 44 tube. The factory axle tubes are 2-inch-diameter by 1/4-inch-wall while the ProRock tubes are 3-inch-diameter by 5/16-inch-wall. Dynatrac also offers it Extreme-Duty axle tubes, which are 3-inch-diameter by 1/2-inch-wall. Looking at the small diameter factory tube it is no wonder how so many JK owners bend and/or break stock axle tubes and housings.

Dynatrac uses steel-forged...

Dynatrac uses steel-forged axle ends that are made in the USA. The end forgings are substantially stronger than the stock units and do not require additional gusseting to hold up against larger tires and excessive torque loads.

The forgings will also maintain...

The forgings will also maintain proper wheel camber under severe use.

With the tubes cut and turned...

With the tubes cut and turned down a seal housing is pressed in to the housing ends of each of the tubes. The seal housing is in place to bring the inside diameter of the axle tube down to the size of the outside diameter of the stock JK axle seal. The outside diameter of the seal housing is the same size as the outside diameter of a 35-spline Dana 60 inner seal, so if 35-spline axle shafts are desired the ProRock can be ordered without the seal housing. The seal housings can also be removed if you plan to upgrade to larger spline 'shafts further down the road.

The end forgings are pressed...

The end forgings are pressed on to the axle tubes in a shop press.

Once the end forging is pressed...

Once the end forging is pressed on to the tube the seam is welded on a rotisserie.

The welded ProRock 44 end...

The welded ProRock 44 end forging and tube is shown next to a stock JK 44 axle. Again, the size and strength of the ProRock components is ever apparent. For those after even greater strength, the ProRock 44 is also available with Danaa 60 end forgings. The Dana 60 forgings permit use of larger axle shafts, U-joints, ball joints, and a true locking manual hub. Configurations such as this are made to order and sold as a custom assembly. For most JK and TJ owners the 44 end forgings will offer adequate strength.
