It’s no secret the JK Wrangler’s OE front upper and lower ball joints are junk. When we disassembled our Sleeper JK project, it had only 62 miles on the odometer and the lower ball joints were already shot! No matter what else is done to the woefully inadequate JK frontend, the upper and lower ball joints have to be replaced.
Poly Performance offers its Synergy Suspension upper and lower ball joints, which are much stronger than stock because they’re a sintered-metal-on-bushing design that can be greased. Besides the JK, Synergy ball joints are available for TJ/LJ, YJ, ZJ, and XJ Jeeps. They’re available in a set of upper and lower ball joints per side, or full sets of four. Get the full set. You need them.

Synergy Suspension Jeep Heavy...

Synergy Suspension Jeep Heavy Duty Ball Joint sets are designed to replace the factory ball joint that is prone to premature failure on lifted Jeep’s with large off-road tires, although we see the OE ball joints fail on stock Jeeps all the time. See the next photo. Synergy ball joints are a fully greasable, sintered-metal-on-bushing design that has high wear resistance. The ball joint boot is made from strong polyurethane that’s tear and wear resistant. The complete set includes two upper and two lower ball joints that have a 12-month unlimited warranty.

Check out part of our OE ball...

Check out part of our OE ball joint that was bad after just 62 miles. Yes, you are seeing correctly. That’s plastic, folks. There is no plastic in the Synergy ball joints.

The outer knuckle installed...

The outer knuckle installed just like OE, but our ball joints are now reliable.
