We traveled to Brothers 4x4 in Montclair, California, for the installation of a Rock Hard 4x4 Parts bolt-in Sports ’cage in a 2007 JK. The front kit is shown, which includes A-pillar dash brackets that secure to the cowl, a dash bar, a top bar, and two center spreader bars paired with 14-guage steel plate. Rock Hard 4x4 Parts offers its Sports ’cage for most Jeep models.

The Ultimate Sports Cage kit offers an easy bolt-in installation that uses Rock Hard 4x4 Parts' patented locking collar connections, which are said to be the strongest of its kind. All components of the Ultimate Sports Cage are 100-percent made in the USA at Rock Hard 4x4 Parts' 30,000-squre-foot manufacturing facility in Nebraska.
The Jeep JK Ultimate Sports Cage kit includes everything from the factory B-pillar hoop forward to the dash and it fits hard or soft top-equipped two- and four-door Jeep Wrangler JKs. It even works with the factory Freedom Top panels. All connections to the factory bars are made with 1/2-inch-thick, CNC-machined clamping collars that are secured using six 5/16-by-1-inch Grade 8 socket head cap screws. The tubing is 1 3/4-inch by 0.120-inch-wall. The Ultimate Sports Cage does not affect the factory windshield mounting, sun visors, or top latches, and the windshield can still be folded down.

This JK also received the rear portion of the Sports ’cage, which includes two center spreader bars. A Rock Hard 4x4 Parts front seat harness bar and bar pads and covers were also installed. We highly recommend using a pad and cover on the front seat harness bar or any loosely belted rear seat passengers may get a mouthful of tube upon sudden braking.
The Ultimate Sports Cage adds to the factory sport 'cage rather than replacing it so no welding is required for installation, only minor drilling and modifying some plastic trim pieces. As a result, the Rock Hard 4x4 Parts' Ultimate Sports Cage provides a factory finish look.
